How to play Netwalk
A network has been scrambled. Every tile on the board carries a piece of cable, and your job is to turn the tiles until the whole network works again.
The goal
The server sits in the middle of the board. Every computer must be connected to it, and no cable may end in the void: when every cable end meets another, the network comes online and the puzzle is solved.
Controls
Tap a tile to turn it clockwise; with a mouse, right-click turns it the other way. Long-press a tile to lock it, so it cannot be turned by accident, and long-press again to free it. The Lock button in the toolbar makes every tap a lock, if long-pressing is awkward.
Levels
Novice is 5 × 5, Normal 7 × 7 and Expert 9 × 9. Master is 9 × 9 with edges that wrap around: a cable leaving the right edge comes back in on the left, and one leaving the top returns at the bottom.
Par and stars
Par is the fewest taps that solve the puzzle as it was dealt. Solve it in par or fewer for three stars, within half as many again for two. A hint fixes one tile for you, and caps that puzzle at two stars.
The daily puzzle
Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, easier early in the week and on the wrap-around board at weekends. Solve it every day to build a streak.
Tips
Start at the edges and corners, where a tile has only a few ways it can face. A straight cable on an edge must run along it; a corner in a corner of the board has only one way to fit. Lock the tiles you are sure of, and the rest of the board narrows down.
